The world of animation continues to change at an astonishing rate. Though the aesthetic techniques used by today’s animators are similar to those used in the early days of the profession, the tools have evolved to a level of quality that has enabled animation to explode into almost every aspect of film and broadcast media. Computer animation techniques not only drive the smooth and detailed look of cartoon animations from “Brave” to the “Madagascar” movies, they are also used to create the creatures that interact with live action actors in films like “Avatar” and “The Lord of The Rings.”
Tribeca Flashpoint Academy, a school specializing in teaching digital media artists how to create tomorrows most stunning animations, will be demonstrating the tools and techniques used by animators today and how those tools relate to the long history of animation starting in the 1930’s.
